Val and Sam were kind enough to invite me over to do some birding in their backyard. The birds were spectacular, but Bertie was the real looker that afternoon.
I totally forgot about my day spent at Collins Hill Park a few weekends ago. This is where I encountered my little mantis and ladybug friends. The park is enormous and it took us two hours to walk the perimeter. There’s a beautiful lake whose reflections I’ve featured on the blog before.
Here are a few more shots of the lovely park. I bet it’s beautiful in the spring and summer!
Some 2013 Goals I’ve been pondering. They’re not really ‘Resolutions’ in the sense that I’m not all riled up about it for January and forget by February. These are achievable goals. :)

:)
I don’t usually post my decor choices online but this weekend I picked up a large wall sconce and I love it. It’s been well designed. In daylight it’s a pretty mosaic but when lit up at night it produces beautiful shadows.
I wish they’d put a light on the smallest one but I’m happy with the piece nonetheless.
Yesterday, Jeremy and I, along with my friend Rachael, spent some time at my favorite local park, McDaniel Farm Park! :) The weather was chilly and moist but I’ve been itching to go out into the daylight.
Guys I had a really fun new years eve! We went all out this year and purchased all-inclusive tickets to Park Tavern with just a few close friends. Last year I returned from India, really sick, and slept until January 3rd. This year we danced the night away, drank and ate ourselves silly, and enjoyed each other’s company. I’m really thankful for a slew of wonderful friends and another year to enjoy life. Happy 2013!
I have these moments where at the beginning of something that I know will be an awesome experience, I remind myself that the experience is transient and that before I know it, I will be contemplating this moment from the end of the experience. This happens every time. It is a double-edged sword in that I really immerse myself in the moments as they arehappening but I have that melancholy feeling that no matter how awesome it is, it will be gone… as all things in life, for all humans ever, eventually fade into dust. I was just thinking about this last Friday, before my holiday party how today would be here before I could blink. Well here it is.. but it’s been such a wonderful week! It’s time to say goodbye to the holiday but not before a couple more events, namely a ballin’ new years eve party, have passed.
The end of December has been too cold (for my tastes anyway). My cats have become lethargic and refuse to do much more than lay here and there, conserving energy. Sometimes I’m jealous of them. I personally would love to spend hours conserving energy. :)

2012 ended well. 2013 is going to be amazing. I am so happy to continue my life as I enjoy it, after a 10 month gap of generally unpleasant social duties taking over my life. I can’t wait.
Jeremy and I went on a double date tonight to westside market. I really enjoy the ambiance of the place and with the little daylight that was left today I was able to capture a few visual highlights.
The lights are still up on the trees
I was actually glad to see most of the Christmas decorations still up in these stores. I’m a little reluctant to let go of the idea of Christmas. I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s the first one that really has me in the spirit.

Dee and Varun were awesome dinner companions.

I can’t believe I’ve never been to Ormsby’s! We ran into Daniel and Pam there which was a nice surprise. We spent a couple hours playing darts and the remainder eating delicious food.
The grits there were amazing… and I normally hate grits so it’s saying a lot.
I hope the rain goes soon. It’s been fun shooting in the rain but .. I want some sunshine! :)
