A Small Gift

I’ll admit it. One of my favorite things about Jeremy is that he indulges me. A lot.

Last winter, I was big into Etsy and had fallen in love with a cute necklace while browsing the handmade haven. I mentioned it maybe once and I found it nestled alongside a card the next Valentines day. I love it. :)

The man knows my love language and speaks it well. :-)

Redirection

Traipsing around the city is a favorite hobby of mine, partially because it fills my mind with ideas and I feel like a vegetable collector in someone else’s garden.  I’ve always kind of liked the idea of bare bulbs on the wall but the harsh impact on the eye always made it hard to execute without making that portion of the room look too raw. This weekend, I looked up while slurping a noodle and saw a genius solution to the problem.

It’s so simple.  A dip in some metal and the harsh light is gone, leaving the beautiful ring of light I appreciate in a lightbulb. The look is a bit industrial but I can already think of many ways to “home” it up.

The weeks are zooming by so fast. I’m kind of glad they are.  2012 will leave me feeling like a bit of my destiny has been ignited. Sitting around like tinder is really getting to me though. :)

Ping

I don’t usually brag. In fact, I like to pretend I’m a mostly humble person. Right? Right?!!

Well, your answer doesn’t matter because I don’t feel like being humble. Not today!

This photo may be seemingly innocent. Nothing special is going on here. My friend Uzo is across the ping pong table from me, watching a riveting match between Jeremy and our other friend Daniel.

Except the cool thing was that I had just bet that I could catch the ping pong ball flying by and not only catch it in the shot but catch it right over Uzo’s face. I didn’t even try twice! I got it the very next shot as it zoomed by. Just call me the Annie Oakley of the shutter button. Or how about the SLR Sniper?

Yeah I know, it’s not even in focus. But look, Uzo’s holding two yellow balls, the photo is off kilter, and it just screams art.  Well maybe I did that on purpose. Yeah. That’s right.  Suck it, René Magritte. I do it in real life.

Okay I’m not that cocky but it’s fun to pretend like you’re the biggest winner when a little bit of luck combines with a modicum of skill. :)

And… you know how I said nothing special was going on during this game? I lied. I think special is a good word to describe the following.

Love all my friends, haha.

Pouring

Jeremy and I found ourselves in Midtown again this weekend looking at more wedding stuff.
Then we found ourselves inside one of our old college hangouts, Noodle.

Jeremy pours me some tea, while we eat lunch in Midtown.

My favorite thing to order in that restaurant is their Ginger Peach tea. The food’s always good, but the tea is spectacular. Especially these very cold days, a warm cup on some frosty fingers is a little blessing I truly appreciate.

In other news, I think we found our church. :)

Self

Jeremy took another picture of myself I like very much.  I look a little tired. And I still have my crazy mid-hair stripe.  I’m a rebel.

I’ve started looking at wedding venues. Last Saturday my parents, Jeremy and I walked around some Midtown Atlanta hotels to get a feel for what a reception there would be like. Let me say I like the Mariott’s atrium. A lot. It’s got this view up that makes you feel like you’ve most definitely stepped into an alien ship. I tinted it green for effect.

It’s first choice right now. We’ll see where next weekend takes us!

All of the Lights

Jeremy and I found ourselves at our special city viewing spot.. special for a couple of reasons this evening. The light was perfect outside and the weather mild and nearly warm!

Warm and a little more closed.

I love them both. :)

Music

Edward Maya

I can’t stop listening to Stereo Love on repeat.  Although this song has been around since 2009, playing in nightclubs and topping Romanian, French, Dutch, Turkish, Finnish, Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish, and Irish singles charts [1], it’s exploded across the American club scene only recently. The video, filmed somewhere like Mykonos or Santorini provides a visual home for the featured melody in the song.

Check out Stereo Love on Spotify, YouTube or Grooveshark.

He’s produced another song which, while not quite so popular, exhibits key melody choices and beat mixes similar to those that made Stereo Love such a hit.

It’s called This is my Life.  Listen to it on Spotify, YouTube or Grooveshark.
