Light Leaks

I love going through my iPhone photos and playing with the new apps that seem to come out weekly.

These were all edited entirely with Afterglow, which I use almost exclusively now. I never thought I’d deviate from Snapseed!

I love my phone. Unfortunately while getting ready to hike the craggy trail I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. The damage isn’t over the screen (thankfully) and I’m surprised this phone has lasted more than 8 or 9 months. I am excited for the iPhone 5s or 6 or Lakers or whatever. Here’s hoping for a better camera + awesome processing power so I can edit more quickly on the fly!

Drive to Asheville

Jeremy have done a lot of local traveling this summer. It’s been pretty great and we’re meeting some fun new people. We headed to Asheville the Wednesday before July 4th weekend. It looked like it was going to rain the entire time but sometimes nature provides beautiful images and  a bit of bad weather is a photographer’s blessing in disguise.

The roads were steamy, and the resulting haze made for some beautiful views.

Hunting Beach Style

Our last day in Myrtle Beach, we spent the morning catching everything from clams, to crabs to even fish. There was a huge ferris wheel on the coast and I got some great landscape shots. :)

Kites

Did you fly kites as a kid? I have a funny story. I remember flying kites on a trip back to India. We were on the beach, in Chennai, in 1995 or 1996, and several of my cousins were flying kites. My cousin Sushil decided it would be awesome to run at me with his kite and cut my kite with his kite’s string. Well, it worked, and I was UPSET. I think I cried for like 30 minutes! I had a personal attachment to this kite and now it was lost to the winds of the Indian Ocean!

Anyway, I think back now and laugh. And then get mad at Sushil.

A couple of weeks before our beach trips and I went to Costco and made Jeremy buy me a giant dragon kite. Well, it was a worthy investment because not only was it huge, it was awesome!

Westside Market

Westside Market is one of my favorite places to spend an evening in Atlanta. Paz & Cam joined Jeremy & I for some excellent tacos and a little wandering around the district. I had an opportunity to produce a little iphoneography. The photo opportunities here are endless.

I scream You Scream

Our group of friends wound up walking around a shopping complex in Destin because we attempted to go to a seafood place that turned out to be a raw food fishery.  Before we landed on a new place we stopped at this TCBY and I feel like it’s now a vacation staple! Rainbow ice cream on a hot day is amazing.

Water

Everything we planted on our deck is blooming! On top of that, we got a hose with a mist setting. You know what that means.Mist on everything! And then : rampant photography. I’m not sure I like most of these photos. I was shooting in broad daylight which made it really hard to control the outcome. Oh well, I love my deck!
