Rain and Blossoms

It rained after a few weeks today. It’s supposed to be sunny for the rest of the blooming window of my “Kikuzakura” cherry blossom tree so this was my chance to take some rainy day photos. I’m glad the rain is early since the petals tend to fall fast if its raining later in the bloom! I hung outside my window to take these!

Aren’t they just so pretty? Ever since my trip to Japan a few years ago, I have wanted to plant a few japanese garden staples in my own yard. I am working on getting a nice arch for my purple wisteria and this spring I picked up a mix of Camellia japonica ‘Buttons & Bows’ and Camellia japonica ‘Romany’too. These should fill out the shadowy bits of yard at the very back of my plot — and provide me beautiful color all winter.

Spring always has me feeling the new garden feels!
