Our last day in Myrtle Beach, we spent the morning catching everything from clams, to crabs to even fish. There was a huge ferris wheel on the coast and I got some great landscape shots. :)
Did you fly kites as a kid? I have a funny story. I remember flying kites on a trip back to India. We were on the beach, in Chennai, in 1995 or 1996, and several of my cousins were flying kites. My cousin Sushil decided it would be awesome to run at me with his kite and cut my kite with his kite’s string. Well, it worked, and I was UPSET. I think I cried for like 30 minutes! I had a personal attachment to this kite and now it was lost to the winds of the Indian Ocean!
Anyway, I think back now and laugh. And then get mad at Sushil.
A couple of weeks before our beach trips and I went to Costco and made Jeremy buy me a giant dragon kite. Well, it was a worthy investment because not only was it huge, it was awesome!
Our group of friends wound up walking around a shopping complex in Destin because we attempted to go to a seafood place that turned out to be a raw food fishery. Before we landed on a new place we stopped at this TCBY and I feel like it’s now a vacation staple! Rainbow ice cream on a hot day is amazing.
Everything we planted on our deck is blooming! On top of that, we got a hose with a mist setting. You know what that means.Mist on everything! And then : rampant photography. I’m not sure I like most of these photos. I was shooting in broad daylight which made it really hard to control the outcome. Oh well, I love my deck!
A few weeks ago, JoAnn took me on a wonderful whirlwind tour of Athens. The sun was shining, the breeze was mild and the temperature perfect. She is also one of my favorite subjects to shoot with a seemingly endless reservoir of modeling energy! I’ve only had the pleasure of taking photos with her twice, but each time was memorable.
I went back to the Renaissance Festival this year! The last time I went I think I was either 19 or 20, back in college. Things haven’t really changed! The characters are amusing, the shows spectacular, and the random medieval wares enticing.
This lamb, is it not adorable?
This guy had the coolest tattoos. Also a flaming whip!
These were my favorite festival characters! A wonderful pair of gargoyles!
An old glassblower treated us to some amazing handmade ornaments.
And I actually bought one of these shoulder pets. No pictures of it yet, but I will be debuting the fella for Dragon*Con this year!
This guy has a face made for a mask…. ;P
