Jeremy and I went to Clearwater Beach, Florida to see our cousin get married! During the off-hours we spent a lot of time at the beach and I took a few shots of the evening waves.
“Beyond the East the sunrise, beyond the West the sea,
And East and West the wanderlust that will not let me be;
It works in me like madness, dear, to bid me say good-by!
For the seas call and the stars call, and oh, the call of the sky!
I know not where the white road runs, nor what the blue hills are,
But man can have the sun for friend, and for his guide a star;
And there’s no end of voyaging when once the voice is heard,
For the river calls and the road calls, and oh, the call of a bird!
Yonder the long horizon lies, and there by night and day
The old ships draw to home again, the young ships sail away;
And come I may, but go I must, and if men ask you why,
You may put the blame on the stars and the sun and the white road and the sky!â€

My favorite furpal. She’ll be 12 this go-round the sun. Â May the badassery never cease!
Jeremy’s been doing Kung Fu for a few months now. He started back in the summer and has really loved it. It was a source of stress relief when I would spend long hours at work and as a result be fairly unavailable at home. I’ll write more on work life balance later – but a new hobby that prioritzes both mental and physical discipline can help get through those rough weeks when your spouse is focusing on something else. And it paid off. Jeremy placed first in his group yesterday at the 2016 US Open.
Our small group friends Thomas and Noke put on an amazing fireworks show at their home this year. I brought my camera and caught a few of the explosions. I hope Jeremy and I can have a similar tradition once we have a larger home in the future! It sure was fun!
