Bad Sunira

I am a bad girl. A bad bad girl.

I’ve ignored this poor blog for weeks. What kind of person am I?

A person eyeballs deep in EPIC ACTIVITIES.

Epic activities involving tons of fun things, amazing and wonderful people and friends, and adventures, and things like getting paid to have super fun. I don’t know guys, it’s like life is one giant confusingly wonderful acid trip I never want to come off of. Anyway, I only have one photo to show you today. Just one? Unheard of. Unsatisfactory!

It’ll have to do until I can sit my arse down for about 124iuque45u428p9 hours to go through 400 gigs of adventure.

SOON!

Is this trippy enough for you? Huh? Huh?

Park

Last year I felt like I missed every season, every detail of so many beautiful things around me. This year I’m sort of trying to make up for it. I see so many details, and enjoy them all.  I am so wholly attracted to the simpler things in life and they’ve certainly never let me down! I may post bits of this park over and over, but something beautiful is always happening there that I just have to share.

Guys?

My little Manfred. He’s a very reasonable cat and I sure love him when I get to visit him at my parents home.

Evening Walk

One of my favorite outdoor hangouts is McDaniel Farm Park. Featured plenty of times on this blog, this place is really magical. I don’t know of any other place that retains its beauty through all junctures in weather and amidst every season. Spring has barely sprung at the park and I couldn’t help but find myself there on a balmy Tuesday.  I captured a few spring spirits already fully adorned in flowery grandeur. If you live in Georgia, now’s the time to get out!

Studying Light in a Car Wash

The prospect of going through a car wash brings me the same level of glee I experienced when I was seven and doing the same thing. It’s almost like you’re transported into a different world for a minute, or into the gaping maw of a slobbery soft-toothed sea creature. The thrashing abstract art of it all just begged to be captured.

Little Shop Adventures

One of my favorite, charming aspects of the Savannah townscape is the abundance of little shops selling everything from large antiques to novelty knick knacks lining every street. The stores are mostly family owned and the personality of the shop owner is reflected in the walls of each establishment. I’ve always been used to going to Savannah with a large group of friends or my huge family but the town is an entirely different experience when you arrive with just one other person and no schedule. I prefer the peaceful meandering, actually!

Beautiful old typewriter. I just love the circular keys.

They have so many old things they can just use some as doorstops!

I’ve told Jeremy he may pick up pipe smoking when he is 70. :)

IMG_1045 I always love collections of old cameras. The Tri-Lens one in the middle really caught my eye.

IMG_1043 We ate a surprising amount of asian food in Savannah.

IMG_1042 Large jewelry was a recurring thing in Savannah. You go big in the south!

IMG_1038 I find myself gravitating towards Yarn and bead stores lately. I do love making earrings out of beads but I think I may learn to knit soon, for making blankets and amigurumi.

IMG_1037 Tiny little knitted sweaters! Each one wasn’t more than 4 inches in height!

IMG_1036 We picked up some pretty yarn for a friend of ours. I loved the entire rainbow of color in the store.

IMG_1035 Part of what makes Savannah charming is the little personal touches the shop owners put in their stores. There’s nothing chain about these places.

IMG_1032 If that alpaca had been for sale it would have come home with me for sure.

Ornamental Kale

I spent a little time this morning in historic Duluth. Jeremy and I met some long time tweeps, checked out an eight week oil painters class, and just enjoyed a quiet morning on a street that wouldn’t be so deserted on a Saturday afternoon if it weren’t for the rain. Planted up and down the street is ornamental kale. I never expected that healthy green to have a sexy side. I may have to plant some of the Brassica oleracea in my garden at home this season.
