Join me for a trip through our botanical gardens here in Atlanta! It’s the middle of winter and most things are dead but the different beauty of a botanical garden in winter is worth discovering!
Hello Favorite place!
I almost like the coloration of the female over it’s over-the-top red male counterpart.
Beautiful crocus dot the garden floor.
Lovely paperbushes in bloom!
Lovely firey colors for the simple pansy.
The statue is a tribute to a young woman whose life was cut short.
Even in winter, the japanese garden is a self contained little isle of garden magic.
The classic chihuly piece that sits atop the fountain, central to the garden.
Probably the best picture taken of me in a long while.
The plants are dotted with the berries of fall past.
The garden is preparing for ‘Orchid Daze’ and a surrealisst exhibit for Feb-March.
The rainforest gardens!
This was an interesting surrealist twist. Shoes and Orchids! The shoes were from Charlotte Russe by the way.
I know plenty of women that would love a world in which shoes grew on trees.
A flying orchid! :)
Beautiful strands of hanging leaves like dark jade.
My two excellent friends.
Purple is also an excellent party color!
The small pond reflects the light beautifully.
This looks like a flying bird!
Too excited about what are essentially circus mirrors.
I thought this hanging display was wonderful.
These would be a fun addition to a spring party.
The shoe tree was actually quite large.
A series of small, newly blooming orchids.
I wish I knew the species of these guys.
He was lovely.
Are all frogs this boring? LOL
A small quail feather hints at the identity of local residents.
This guy made me want to go buy quail babies at the flea market again.
Ami walks through the orchard trees.
the evening light is fading.
Munching.
Squirrels always seem to have a mouthful.
