I had some fun with sparklers in North Carolina on our last day. I’d ben meaning to do this for a while. The unpredictable light was awesome to experiment with.
Playing with aperture was the most challenging part of this. It’s easy to get the entire sparkler in focus… but when you get close…
Not that I didn’t appreciate a f/8+ photo with this.
Bits of sparkler jumped off by themselves and created their own bursts.
Long exposures lent themselves to huge amounts of sparkles.
BOKEH!
I burned my face a couple times because I was using my kit lens for this. I’m starting to really want a 100mm macro. Especially after I scared away most everything I chased in the forest that weekend.
Maybe in the future. :)
