Zinnia Bed

I’ve been trying to rebuild my Zinnia Bed. That was a huge failure from earlier this year. I planted a bunch of Zinnia and Cosmos seeds together, and over the course of spring and early summer, they just became really leggy and didn’t bloom much at all. I think this is because I threw them directly into a bunch of compost I had spread.

We’re in the middle of the summer. We just dug everything out and started again this time, no compost. Instead, we just let them grow on the surface of a mix of clay and then whatever was left of the last compost. They are growing a lot more slowly this time, and I did not include any Cosmos on purpose, but it looks like a few bright lights Cosmos might join the crowd. I am hopeful to get the beautiful Zinnia Bed that I wanted earlier this fall instead of this summer, so wish me luck.

There’s not much to look at at the moment, but this is my box of hopes and dreams for the fall.
